Week 8 route

This week we tackle the most famous Green space in the city and possibly the world: Central Park. We'll cover it from tip to top, with detours to the shores of the Upper East and Upper West Side to see the sights and meet our daily mileage quota.

Week 7 route

Our first look at Midtown pays homage to the grid that defines it. From 23rd to 59th Street, we walk up and down 1st to 11th Avenue until we reach our marathon limit. This includes too many sites to mention, from the Chrysler and Empire State buildings; the Theatre District and Times Square; Grand Central Station; Rockefeller Center and so much more.

Week 6 route

Cross Bay Boulevard is the star of our trip to South Queens, taking us back and forth over Jamaica Bay and through the corresponding wildlife refuge. We tag up at Bayswater and Far Rockaway before heading back home, getting a look at Spring Creek Park in Howard Beach before catching the J train at Van Siclen Avenue and heading home.

Week 5 route

Our initial look at East Queens starts with a ride out on the J train into Woodhaven to stretch some extra ground out of our 26.2 miles. Crossing through Hillcrest, Fresh Meadows and Douglaston, we graze up against the Nassau County border before turning south for Queens Village and Cambria Heights. Walking the length of Jamaica, we meet up with Myrtle Avenue and cut through Forest Park before heading home.
